Let It Start With You

I continue to be thankful for the privilege to worship with the men at the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center. A few of the men have faithfully attended our worship service for years. Praise God!

In Genesis 4:26 a God-fearing man (Seth) and his God-fearing son (Enosh: “frail man”) and their God-fearing, God-dependent descendants began to openly call on the name of the Lord. They openly prayed to God while man around them did not. Seth, the father, started this wonderful practice of praying to God. His son Seth followed his example.

I reminded the men that even though they are behind prison bars, they to, like Seth, can be the first to spark faith in God and be the spiritual bridge to God for the rest of their family.

The Book of  Acts (16:25-34) speaks of faith rippling through a home, often starting with a single person. In this case a jailer God uses to draw in the whole family and give them a new future direction.

I pray that God will enable each man present to take personal responsibility to initiate being the “prayer warrior” both in and for their families and fellow inmates.
