Keep the Faith

What joy Christian inmates have knowing that they have been born to a living hope in Christ Jesus. Our July 5th first Sunday Lord’s Day Supper and worship service was truly a blessing! I delivered a message to the brothers from Peter’s letter to early believers in 1 Peter 1:8. In this letter, the apostle Peter highlights the essence of authentic Christian faith: loving and trusting Jesus Christ despite never having seen Him. This deep relationship produces a profound, unexplainable joy that transcends earthly circumstances. While earthly circumstances may be negative (as it was for these early persecuted readers) the believer’s joy flows from the reality that external circumstances do not determine our joy. I reminded the brothers that through their faith in Jesus, they have been placed in a new spiritual ‘position’ that physical circumstances cannot change. I reminded the men that they were once far away but have been brought near. They were once lost but now found. They were once blind but now they see! Faith re-positions sinners to a new condition of experiencing true joy and hope in Christ Jesus.

Praise God for giving us the faith to hold on to Jesus even though we cannot see Him!

Praise God for empowering these brother’s and myself to keep the faith!

Blessings,

Pastor James
